The Austin Police Department is Now accepting applications for an anticipated February 2010 cadet class. This will be a great opportunity for military personnel exiting the military in late 2009 or college students graduating in late 2009. Entry Testing for this class will start in February 2009 and will continue until September 2009.

If you are interested in applying for the February 2010 cadet class for the Austin Police Department please go to the "Application" section of the recruiting menu and complete the contact card. You will also be allowed to download and print a Pre-Screen Application, Background History Statement and Information Packet.

Please note that the Austin Police Department is a professional organization, therefore we expect all of our applicants or potential applicants to be dressed in professional business casual attire when coming to the Recruiting Unit for any reason unless you are specifically advised by a recruiter to show up in something other than business casual attire. Your clothing, grooming and overall appearance is important due to the competitive nature of a professional job representing professional police officers. The wearing of t-shirts, sandals and ripped clothing will not be accepted and you will be asked to leave and return with acceptable attire.
