Sergeant Tonya Thomas

Sergeant Tonya Thomas has been with the Austin Police Department since 1997. She is from the small town of Taylor, Texas.  She proudly served as a member of the Austin Police Motorcycle unit, as a community liaison and an Investigator in Child Abuse.  She promoted to Sergeant where she served on patrol, case management and now serving in the recruiting unit.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas State University and a Certification in Public Management.  She finds joy in encouraging and inspiring our younger generation.
